Woodside Priory School
Benedictine Day & Boarding (Grades 6–12) in Silicon Valley
About the Organization
Woodside Priory School ('The Priory') is an independent, Catholic Benedictine day & boarding school serving grades 6–12. Founded in 1957 by seven Hungarian Benedictine monks and rooted in Benedictine values, Priory helps students create balanced, meaningful lives—as curious scholars, kind community members, and stewards who use their gifts in service to others. Located on a ~50-acre campus in Portola Valley, the Priory is Silicon Valley's only high-school boarding program, with ~50 boarders and ~30% of faculty living on campus. Students benefit from small classes (avg. 13 students), close faculty mentorship, and a mission shaped by a living monastic presence—creating a place where students are known, talents are stretched, and faith and purpose are part of everyday life.
